DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato 17x19 keeps the 17 mm piston suited to calliper mounting bolts 32 mm apart or closer, but steps the pivot distance to 19 mm, a setting Accossato places between its track and street recommendations. That gives a somewhat more direct lever feel than the 18 mm version without moving into the firmer, track-only territory of the 20 mm setting used elsewhere in the 17 mm range. The lever is fixed, long and fitted with a relieving eyelet, the body is natural anodised, and the lever colour is matched by an adjusting knob.
Key Features
- 17 mm piston diameter, suggested for motorcycles with calliper mounting bolts 32 mm apart or less
- 19 mm fixed lever pivot distance for mixed track and street use
- Fixed lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
Built in Italy from forged aluminium, this 17 mm master cylinder is CNC machined and finished in natural anodising, matching the rest of the range. The screws are stainless steel, the bleed valve is zinced steel, and the internal seals use Formula 1 compound, able to withstand sustained heat cycling and continued fluid exposure. An offset riser sits within the mounting clamp to reduce bending under hard braking, and the bore geometry more than halves the passive stroke compared with a standard radial master cylinder of similar bore size. Hoses connect through the standard M10x1 thread.
A Firmer Pivot for Wider-Bore Calipers
Accossato describes the 19 mm pivot distance as a mixed track and street setting, giving a feel between the balanced 18 mm figure and the firmer, track-only 20 mm option in the 17 mm range. Because the piston diameter stays at 17 mm regardless of the pivot chosen, the amount of fluid moved for a given lever pull is unaffected; what changes is the leverage ratio, adding a touch more directness without the extra hand force the 20 mm setting asks for. This makes the 17x19 a sensible choice for riders who want slightly sharper response than the all-round 18 mm version without committing to a pivot distance that is unsuited to everyday road use.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato publishes no vehicle-specific fitment data for this unit, so it is sold as a universal 17 mm radial master cylinder for 22 mm handlebar clamps. Confirm your own bar diameter first, make sure your brake system is designed around a 17 mm piston, and check that your calliper's mounting bolt spacing is 32 mm or less.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato 17x19 radial brake master cylinder fitted with the fixed, long lever with relieving eyelet, in the colour selected, together with the matching mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinced bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
