The Enduro got a nineteen-inch front wheel and a tank sized for real distance because Ducati expected it to be ridden far from the places that sell Ducati parts. That expectation has an awkward corner: the air filter is the one service item a hard dusty week can consume outright, and the one nobody stocks in a village. A washable element answers that directly. The Sprint Filter T12 PM127T12 is the finest medium in the range — a dry polyester special non-woven filtering to 7 microns, made for dust, sand and extreme conditions — and it is restored with an air line rather than replaced.
Key Features
- The finest medium Sprint Filter builds: 7 microns, dry polyester special non-woven
- 560 l/m²/sec of rated flow — what that level of retention costs
- Cleaned with compressed air and used again — no part number to hunt for abroad
- Never oiled, so nothing is left behind to contaminate the intake tract
- Direct replacement in the standard airbox, mapping untouched
- Two years of warranty running from the purchase date
A part you can service where nobody sells one
On a long ride the value of a washable element is not really what it saves; it is that it removes a dependency. A disposable element in a dusty region becomes a supply problem — carry spares and the space they take, or ride on with one past its useful life because there is nothing to swap it for. Here the answer is a compressor at a filling station, a borrowed air line in a workshop, or water and time at a campsite. The specification you left home with is the one you can restore, which on a machine drawn up for remote distance is worth more than any figure on the box.
Nine times less air, deliberately
The Enduro is the clearest case in this family for going so fine, and it is still a trade rather than a promotion. Retention and flow pull against each other in every filter medium: hold back more, pass less. The road-going P08 filters at 80 microns and is rated at 5,050 l/m²/sec; this one filters at 7 and is rated at 560, so the same area of material moves roughly a ninth of the air. Nothing in the range gives up more. On a 1200 twin that is a genuine concession, and the reason to accept it is the ground — dry piste, sand, long gravel stages — not a taste for the finest part available.
Care and cleaning
Blow it through from the clean face outwards; the non-woven releases dust readily and normally needs nothing else. After a punishing stage, warm water and a mild washing-up detergent take out the rest, rinsed until the water comes off clear. Drying happens in open air and nowhere else: no heat source, no flame, no shortcuts, and it goes back in only when dry right through, exactly as it came. The maintenance sheet for the PM127T12 sits in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro and Enduro Pro of 2016 to 2018, going into the series airbox with no modification to the housing. Eight Multistrada variants share this element, from the 950 up to the 1260 Enduro and the two Pikes Peak models. The complete list is in the Fitment tab.
