DescriptionThe whole story▼
Born in the OZ SBK Racing department and refined through competition, the Piega R rear wheel brings genuine motorsport pedigree to your Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ27. Lighter than the standard Piega and available in two striking anodised finishes, this is the wheel for riders who demand the last word in rotational mass reduction and track-day aesthetics.
Key Features
- Forged from premium-grade aluminium for an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio that outperforms the standard Piega series.
- Reduced rotational mass delivers measurable gains in agility, steering response and acceleration at high speeds.
- Five-spoke Piega R architecture developed directly by OZ's SBK Racing division — a design shaped by real Superbike competition.
- Available in two elegant anodised colourways: techno black and techno gold, each finished to Italian production standards.
- Made in Italy — OZ's own manufacturing ensures the precision tolerances and surface quality the racing world demands.
- Designed exclusively for track use, providing the ideal balance of lightweight construction and structural stability under race loads.
Design, Finish and Heritage
The Piega R carries a lineage that traces directly to OZ's involvement in World Superbike, and it shows in every detail. The five-spoke silhouette is not a styling exercise — it is an engineering statement, with each spoke profiled to shed weight while maintaining the rigidity required when braking hard into a chicane. The anodised finish is integral to the aluminium, not a coating applied over it, which means the colour is resistant to chipping and retains its depth long after lesser wheels have faded. Whether you choose techno black for an aggressive, understated stance or techno gold for the classic OZ Racing look, the finish commands attention in the paddock and on the circuit.
Performance on Track
The Piega R is conceived exclusively for circuit use. By trimming rotational inertia beyond what the standard Piega achieves, it allows the YZF-R6 to change direction more readily, respond faster to steering inputs and accelerate out of corners with greater urgency. For club racers and trackday enthusiasts pushing the R6 RJ27 to its limits, the wheel is a direct, bolt-on upgrade that requires no compromise on reliability. Note that the original rear sprocket does not fit; a new sprocket carrier is supplied in the box.
Fitment and Compatibility
This rear wheel is engineered specifically for the Yamaha YZF-R6 RJ27 covering model years 2017 to 2026. It is not intended for road use.
