What It Is
Öhlins gives it as 6 mm, 20 mm, 0.15 mm; nothing about that is approximate. A coned or marked shim is finished — it no longer seals against its neighbour. Two shims of the same thickness but different diameter give completely different damping. A stack combines several diameters so the curve changes progressively rather than in steps.
