DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Brutale 800 is built at Schiranna on the shore of Lake Varese, where MV Agusta has made its motorcycles for decades, and it has become one of the most familiar faces in the brand's range. Its three-cylinder engine and compact frame make it a lively partner on a tight circuit. Accossato, the maker of this cap, is based in Villastellone near Turin, further west in Piedmont, so bike and cap both come from Italy's industrial north. The FC101 is a quick-release tank cap machined from aluminium, listed for the Brutale 800 of 2013 to 2019, 2021 to 2023 and 2026.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta Brutale 800
  • Listed years: 2013 to 2019, 2021 to 2023 and 2026
  • Covers the base model and the Rosso, SCS and R entries
  • Entirely CNC-machined aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl; pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
  • Pawl sold separately as a spare
  • No German ABE documented; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

From its body to its closure, the FC101 is CNC-machined aluminium, and Accossato presents it as robust and durable, in a design that is new. The quick-closing pawl gives fast access to the Brutale 800's tank and shuts it again with the same ease. You choose one of six colours for the pin on the pawl. If that pawl is ever damaged, Accossato offers a replacement on its own.

Model Year, Not Registration Date

Few MV Agusta models have appeared in as many versions as the Brutale 800, and Accossato's list reflects that, with separate entries for several variants and a new one for 2026. It also leaves gaps: 2020, 2024 and 2025 have no entry, so owners of bikes from those years should ask before ordering rather than assume. Model year and registration date are not always the same either. A bike built late in one year may be sold and registered the next, and some machines stand in a showroom for a season before they find a buyer, so the date on the registration document can mislead. For fitment, the model year is what counts, and your dealer or the vehicle documents can confirm it. If your Brutale 800 falls in a listed year, the FC101 is the cap Accossato names for it. If it falls in a gap, send us the details and we will check the list for you.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's entries cover the Brutale 800 of 2013 to 2019, the Rosso of 2021 and 2022, the SCS of 2021 to 2023, the R of 2023 and the Brutale 800 of 2026, all with the FC101, and we list the product for exactly those years. The same cap is also listed with us for the Brutale 800 RR and the F3 800, and for the Aprilia RS 660.

Road Approval

No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC101, so we sell it for the track. The Brutale 800 should wear its original cap on public roads; that cap usually locks with the ignition key.
