A bushing is a consumable and is replaced at rebuild rather than reused. Bushings carry the side load in a damper or fork and keep the moving parts concentric. Öhlins uses PTFE-coated bushings for a low breakaway force.

Original Öhlins Part

A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Öhlins numbers do not follow a logic you can guess — always read them from the documentation. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Order under 01653-01. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Sleeves position parts axially and often set the preload on a stack. Both diameters and the length are specification rather than approximation.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01653-01

Category: Guides

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01653-01_fe607c94-8a92-46a6-82ae-20e12f16e159.png?v=1788873891
