How to measure your helmet size correctly: To find the right helmet size, measure your head circumference with a flexible tape measure.
It is important that the tape measure runs around the widest part of the head – only then will you get a correct result.
Place the tape measure at the front, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows, and run it along the sides above the ears.
At the back, the tape must run over the largest part of the back of the head (not too low on the neck). The tape may run slightly at an angle – what matters is that it sits all the way around the largest points of the head.
Make sure the tape measure sits snugly but does not dig in. Measure 2–3 times for the most accurate result. You can then compare the measured value in centimetres (cm) with our size chart.
Tips for an accurate result
- Keep hair flat (e.g. do not measure over a voluminous hairstyle)
- Keep the tape horizontal, i.e. along the largest circumference
- Do not measure too loosely
- For values between two sizes:
→ usually choose the larger size (depending on helmet model / fit)
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without causing uncomfortable pressure points.
A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

The Savage pattern in fluorescent yellow covers more of the shell than the Grid version does — the torn panels wrap the sides and crown rather than running as bands, so there is simply more bright surface facing traffic.
A carbon shell in six sizes
Underneath the paint sits a genuine 6K carbon layup. Carbon is stiff for its mass, so LS2 could build the shell thin and still meet ECE 22.06 — the result weighs about 1400 g in the middle sizes.
The size range is spread across six shells rather than the usual two or three. In practice: a size S is genuinely a small helmet, not a medium shell with thicker cheek pads, and a XXXXL is not a stretched compromise.
About the Savage Hi-Vis Yellow finish
If you want the most conspicuous helmet in this range, it is this one: the Savage layout puts fluorescent yellow across the widest area, and the gloss coat makes it read as luminous rather than flat. Against the exposed carbon in the gaps the contrast is strong, which helps other drivers judge distance rather than just noticing a bright shape.
Airflow that reaches your head
Two intakes, ducted EPS, rear extractors. The point of routing the channels through the liner foam is that airflow actually crosses the scalp — and the breath deflector stops the visor fogging from below.
Three visors, one helmet
The main visor is scratch-resistant, UV-stable and wide enough that shoulder checks do not need an exaggerated head turn. A Pinlock 120 MaxVision insert is in the box, not on the options list.
The integrated sun visor is the Twin Visor System: a tinted internal screen you deploy with a slider and stow entirely within the shell. It works with glasses and needs no second visor in your luggage.
Holding on, and letting go
Micrometric metal buckle, reinforced strap, multi-density polystyrene, and an emergency release for the cheek pads. That last item matters exactly once, and only to people who are not you.
The bit you actually touch
The lining is treated with X-Static silver, which is antibacterial rather than merely scented — it comes out, it washes, and it goes back in. The foam is laser-cut, so the seams do not print into your forehead.
In the box
- LS2 FF811 Vector II Carbon helmet — Savage Hi-Vis Yellow
- Carrying backpack
- Tinted visor
- Pinlock 120XLT MaxVision anti-fog insert
- Reflective stickers
That tinted visor is worth calling out: LS2 supplies a complete second screen, not just the drop-down sun visor. Between the clear visor fitted, the tinted one in the box and the internal sun visor, every light condition is covered without a further purchase.
