DescriptionThe whole story▼
Touring means stopping in places you did not choose: a junction at the top of a steep village street, a queue on a mountain road, a car park that slopes down towards the sea. On the Shiver 750 GT, pulling away from such a spot is a small piece of coordination between right foot, right hand and the clutch. The Accossato ESC023 is a clutch lever for the Shiver 750 GT of 2009 to 2016, CNC-machined from aluminium, with an adjustable reach and three blade lengths.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Aprilia Shiver 750 GT, listed 2009 to 2016
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Adjuster for the distance between blade and grip
- Short, standard (approximately 138 mm) and long blades
- Seven colours on a black hub
- Machined from solid aluminium, anodised
- Rigid lever without folding joint
- No German ABE documented; for the track
Construction and Material Quality
The ESC023 is shaped from a solid aluminium blank on CNC machines and anodised afterwards, a process that turns the surface of the metal into a hard, coloured layer. The hub, which holds the pivot and the reach adjuster, is black on every lever, while the blade carries your chosen colour. From hub to tip the blade is a single rigid part, so the engagement point you learn on your Shiver 750 GT stays where it is.
Holding on a Gradient
The classic hill start on a motorcycle uses the rear brake to hold the bike, which leaves the hands free for the part that matters. With the right foot on the pedal and first gear selected, you open the throttle slightly and ease the clutch out until you feel the bike pull against the brake. Only then does the foot come off the pedal, and the Shiver 750 GT moves forward without rolling back. On a GT loaded with luggage and perhaps a passenger, that moment needs a touch more throttle and a slightly longer, calmer release.
The lever's position decides how precisely you can find the point where the bike starts to pull. Set the reach so the friction point comes with your fingers comfortably curled, not stretched at the end of their travel. The long blade, made in blue, gold, green and orange, adds leverage and spreads the engagement over a longer finger movement, which helps on steep starts. The standard length of about 138 mm stays closest to the original and is offered in all seven colours; the short one, in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, suits two-finger clutch work.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESC023 for the Shiver 750 GT from 2009 to 2016, while the brake lever for the same bike, the EDF023, is listed from 2008 to 2016. Owners of a 2008 bike will therefore find the brake lever but not this clutch lever under their year. The ESC023 fits at the original clutch mounting and replaces the standard lever.
Road Approval
German road approval (ABE) is not on record for the ESC023; it is sold for track use.
