DescriptionThe whole story▼
Finding a front sprocket that slots in cleanly, seats without play and holds up across thousands of miles is half the battle on any Street Triple 765. Sitta's Z001 front sprocket is machined from high-tensile chrome-molybdenum steel to exacting tolerances, so every ride — commute, canyon run or trackday — starts with a drivetrain you can trust from the moment you pull out of the garage.
Key Features
- Chrome-molybdenum steel construction delivers exceptional strength, wear resistance and long service life compared with standard mild-steel alternatives.
- Precision-machined tooth profile ensures a secure, rattle-free fit on the Street Triple 765 output shaft — no shimming, no fuss.
- Five tooth counts (14 through 18) let you dial in the exact gearing that suits your riding style, whether that is short-circuit acceleration or relaxed motorway cruising.
- Compatible with both 520 and 525 pitch chains, so you can run your existing chain size or convert as part of a full chain-kit upgrade.
- Motorsport-grade quality equally at home on road or track, with consistent power transfer under sustained hard riding.
Choosing the Right Tooth Count
The front sprocket is the quickest and most cost-effective way to alter the character of your Street Triple's drivetrain. A smaller sprocket tightens the overall gearing, sharpening throttle response and initial acceleration — exactly what you want for tight circuits or technical B-roads. A larger sprocket stretches the gearing for a calmer engine note at motorway speeds and reduced fuel consumption on longer tours.
As a practical guide: stepping down to 14 or 15 teeth sharpens pick-up and makes the 765's three-cylinder feel even more urgent out of slow corners. Moving up to 17 or 18 teeth softens the urgency slightly but rewards you with a more relaxed cruising rpm and better top-end reach — useful for fast flowing circuits or mixed road riding where you spend time above 130 km/h.
Build Quality and Longevity
Sitta manufactures the Z001 from chrome-molybdenum steel, the same alloy class used throughout motorsport for components that must handle high cyclic loads without fatigue. The result is a sprocket that resists the micro-deformation that gradually throws a chain out of alignment, keeping wear on both the chain and rear sprocket to a minimum. Correct chain tension and lubrication remain the rider's responsibility, but the metallurgy of the Z001 gives you the best possible foundation for a long-lasting drivetrain.
