DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Öhlins TTX GP rear shock absorber BM 361 is an uncompromising, race-derived unit built specifically for the BMW S1000RR K46 (2009–2014). Developed to deliver the kind of precise, consistent damping that wins races, it brings genuine World Superbike-level suspension technology to both the track and the road — transforming how the S1000RR rides in every corner.
Key Features
- Gas-pressurised TTX damper with fixed external piggy-back reservoir for exceptional damping consistency under sustained track use
- Fully adjustable compression and rebound damping — dial in the exact setup your riding style and circuit demand
- Integrated hydraulic spring preload adjuster for fast, tool-free ride height and preload changes between sessions
- 36 mm piston diameter engineered for long service life and outstanding fade resistance lap after lap
- 62 mm stroke and a 85 N/mm spring rate matched to the S1000RR's chassis dynamics
- Overall length 310 mm (+5 / -1 mm) for precise geometry and fitment
Race-Derived Performance on Road and Track
The TTX (Twin Tube X) platform is the same technology Öhlins supplies to MotoGP and World Superbike teams. Its gas-pressurised twin-tube architecture eliminates cavitation at extreme lean angles and over aggressive kerbs, maintaining a consistent damping force where a conventional monotube unit would begin to fade. For BMW S1000RR riders pushing hard on track days or competing in club racing, this translates directly into rear-end confidence, better traction under acceleration and a chassis that feels planted rather than unsettled.
Adjustability and Setup
The BM 361 offers a level of adjustability that most OEM shocks simply cannot match. Independent compression and rebound damping adjustment lets you soften the unit for a flowing, flowing technical circuit or stiffen it for a high-speed track with heavy braking zones — without compromise. The hydraulic spring preload adjuster makes ride-height tuning quick and repeatable between riders or conditions, a genuine advantage during a busy track day.
Fitment and Compatibility
This shock absorber is designed exclusively for the BMW S1000RR K46 built between 2009 and 2014. For the 2012–2014 model years (German market), the BM 361 is supplied with a general type-approval certificate (Allgemeines Teilegutachten — Germany), confirming road-legal fitment. Please note: this unit is not compatible with the BMW HP4 variant. Installation by an authorised Öhlins Service Centre is recommended for optimum results. A fitting guide is included in the box.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting matters as much as the part. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and carry out installation, servicing and setup ourselves — get in touch and we will arrange it alongside your order.
