Free length and inner diameter decide whether a spring fits; the rate decides whether it suits. Öhlins publishes sag targets, and those are the reference for choosing a rate. A settled spring lowers the machine and steepens the steering without anyone changing a setting.

Why the Original

The tolerances here are the ones the unit was assembled to, not a pattern equivalent's interpretation of them. Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

How to Be Sure It Fits

05050-01 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. Check dimension a 1.6 mm, dimension b 7.63 mm, dimension c 0.40 mm against what you have removed; a close size is not the same part. Free length and inner diameter decide whether a spring fits; the rate decides whether it suits. Free length and inner diameter decide fit; the rate decides behaviour.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05050-01

Category: Springs

Dimension A: 1.6 mm

Dimension B: 7.63 mm

Dimension C: 0.40 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05050-01_cf81fa91-aacd-448a-a061-7d1e0c7d650e.png?v=1788873775
