DescriptionThe whole story

Engineered exclusively for GP-shift operation, the LighTech FTRDU016/W rearset kit brings genuine grand-prix shifting precision to the Ducati Panigale V2 955. CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium billet, this is a track-proven upgrade that demands and rewards commitment — a direct-fit solution for riders who want race-department quality on their road or circuit machine.

Key Features

  • Designed exclusively for GP-shift (reverse shift pattern) — delivers faster, more intuitive gear changes under hard acceleration on track or during spirited road riding.
  • CNC-machined from full billet Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium for maximum rigidity and minimal mass without compromise.
  • Up to three ball bearings per lever ensure an exact, play-free shift feel that remains precise even under sustained high-load use.
  • Fully adjustable footpeg position — both height and fore/aft travel — so you can dial in the ergonomics to suit your riding style and physique.
  • Available in two variants: fixed footpegs (FTRDU016) or folding footpegs (FTRDU016W) to suit track-only or mixed-use requirements.
  • Individual spare parts available separately, keeping long-term running costs low and the kit race-ready at all times.
  • Complete installation hardware included in the box.

Construction and Performance

LighTech's approach to rearset design starts with the material: Ergal 7075-T6 is the aerospace-grade aluminium alloy widely used in motorsport components precisely because it combines high tensile strength with low density. Machined from solid billet rather than cast or extruded stock, every bracket and pivot retains tight dimensional tolerances that cheaper processes cannot guarantee.

The ball-bearing pivot arrangement — with up to three bearings per lever arm — eliminates the slop that plagues plain-bushed rearsets over time. The result is a shift action that feels the same on lap one as it does on lap fifty, with no notchiness or dead travel creeping in as the season progresses. Lever geometry is optimised for the GP-shift pattern, so the downward push for an upshift becomes entirely instinctive after minimal track time.

Road and Track Application

This kit is aimed squarely at Ducati Panigale V2 955 owners who attend track days or race competitively, and at serious road riders who already run a GP-shift gearbox configuration. It is important to note that this rearset is designed solely for reverse (GP) shift operation — it cannot be configured for a standard shift pattern. If you run a standard shift linkage, the companion kit without the /W designation is the appropriate choice.
