DescriptionThe whole story▼

An XSR700 ridden through every season, sometimes with a passenger and a tail bag for a weekend away, needs a rear brake that copes with rain, cold and road spray. For the Yamaha XSR700 from 2016 to 2025, Accossato lists its AGPP88 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound. It is intended for riders who want the pedal to feel the same on a wet morning as on a warm afternoon, and who rely on the rear brake to keep a loaded bike calm on long descents.

Key Features

  • AGPP88 rear pad, Sintered (ST) compound
  • For the Yamaha XSR700, 2016 to 2025
  • Steady grip in cold and heat
  • Good wet grip, per Accossato
  • Suited to two-up riding and all seasons
  • One box for the rear caliper
  • OR version also offered

Construction and Material Quality

The two properties Accossato names for ST are a high level of grip that barely shifts between cold and hot, and dependable performance in the wet. The rear caliper of a naked bike sits directly in the spray from its own tyre, so wet behaviour is not an occasional concern there but part of every rainy ride.

Rain, Passengers and Descents

With a passenger aboard, weight moves backwards and the rear brake of an XSR700 becomes more effective, so riders use it more, especially to steady the bike on a long downhill. That steady use heats the rear pad, and a sintered compound keeps its feel as the temperature climbs. When the road is wet, it bites promptly on the disc instead of hesitating. For the passenger, the result is smoother stops; for the rider, a pedal that behaves the same way from the start of the day to the end.

Winter Care

Rinse salt and grime from the rear caliper after wet rides, check that the pads still slide freely and look for corrosion on the disc. Fresh fluid at the start of winter keeps the pedal firm.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPP88 is Accossato's rear pad for the XSR 700 in every year from 2016 to 2025, and AGPA97 is the front partner. One box suits the single rear caliper. Before the wet season is a good time for the change: scrub the pistons clean, push them back, measure the disc and replace old fluid. Pump the pedal hard, then bed the pads in with moderate stops before carrying a passenger.

Road Approval

We have no German ABE or test mark for this pad. It is sold for competition use.

Scope of Delivery
