DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato PK023 radial brake master cylinder pairs a 19 mm piston with a fixed 18 mm lever pivot distance and its own integrated fluid reservoir, so there is no separate tank to mount or plumb in. Unlike the folding-lever PK021 built on the same 19x18 geometry, this version uses a fixed lever, available in seven colours with a relieving eyelet, which keeps the lever a little simpler for riders who have no need to fold it in for transport or storage. Accossato rates the 18 mm pivot for track use and also recommends it for street riding, and the piston size suits dual-disc front brakes.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
  • Fixed 18 mm lever pivot distance, for track use and also recommended for street use
  • Fixed lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), seven colours available
  • Integrated fluid reservoir with a colour-matched cover, adjusting knob and oil level marker
  • Forged aluminium body with a CNC-worked cover and lever
  • Offset riser that reduces bending of the master cylinder while braking
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

Like its folding-lever sibling, the PK023 uses a forged aluminium body with the cover and lever CNC worked afterwards, which is how Accossato keeps the integrated reservoir's cover, knob and oil marker in the same colour as the lever itself across this sub-range. Stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals make up the hardware, chosen for resistance to heat cycling and continuous contact with brake fluid. The offset riser reduces flex in the unit under hard braking, while the internal passages are shaped to shorten the passive lever stroke by more than half compared with a standard radial master cylinder of this size.

Fixed Lever Versus the Folding PK021

The PK023 shares its piston diameter, pivot distance and reservoir design with the PK021, so the choice between the two comes down to the lever itself: a fixed lever has one less moving part than a folding one, which some riders prefer for its simplicity and slightly lower chance of developing play over time, while a folding lever tucks in against the bar for easier transport or storage, or after a light crash. Mechanically the two units behave identically on the road, since the 19 mm piston and 18 mm pivot distance that determine how the brake responds are unchanged between them; the decision is really about handling preference rather than performance.

Fitment and Compatibility

This master cylinder is listed against 65 motorcycles in our fitment data, spanning Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki model ranges, among them the Aprilia RSV4 FACTORY (2017-2023), BMW S1000RR (2009-2023), Ducati Panigale V4 (2018-2023), Honda CBR 1000 RR (2008-2019) and Kawasaki ZX-10 R (2006-2023). See the Fitment tab on this page for the complete list with model years, and confirm it against your own vehicle before ordering.

Road Approval

This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The package includes the Accossato PK023 radial brake master cylinder with its integrated reservoir, fitted with a long fixed lever and relieving eyelet (RST) in the colour selected, together with the mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinc-plated bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The brake light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the mirror holder, available separately as MH007 or MH008, are not included.
