DescriptionThe whole story▼
In many Italian cities, motorcycles stand in long rows on the pavement, handlebar to handlebar, and one careless push can send several over like dominoes. An Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 left in such a row overnight may greet its owner with a fresh scratch, even though nobody rode it. Accossato's TP052 crash pads are machined from aluminium and carry an anodised insert in one of six colours; their purpose is to give the Dorsoduro 1200 something expendable to land on. Accossato lists them for the model from 2010 to 2017.

- Screw cover in the insert colour available as an option
- Two pads in the pack
- Some bikes need the fairing drilled: ask us before ordering

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the TP052 from aluminium on CNC machines and fits each pad with an insert that has been anodised in colour. There are six shades to pick from: blue, green, black, red, silver and gold. A screw cover in the same shade can be ordered with the pads or left off, depending on the look you want. Two pads come in the pack. Their task is to be the first thing that touches the ground when the Dorsoduro falls, which can lessen the damage to the frame and the bodywork behind them.
Rows of Bikes and One Careless Push
Pavement parking is part of city life for motorcyclists, and it carries risks that have nothing to do with riding. Scooters get squeezed in sideways, delivery riders reverse without looking, and a bike on its side stand leans towards its neighbour. Where you can, park the Dorsoduro 1200 at the end of a row rather than in the middle, nose pointing outwards, so that you can leave without rolling backwards into another machine. Make sure the stand rests on firm paving, not on a drain cover or a crumbling edge, and leave the bike in gear if the ground slopes. A disc lock with a reminder cable deters thieves, but take it off before you move. If you come back to a bike on its side, photograph the scene before touching anything, then look at the pads and the parts around them. A pad that has taken a hard hit should be replaced rather than kept as a souvenir.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the TP052 for the Dorsoduro 1200 from 2010 to 2017. According to Accossato, the fairing has to be drilled on some motorcycles for its crash pads, but the list does not say which ones, so please ask us before you order whether your Dorsoduro 1200 is among them. For the same bike, Accossato also makes the PF019 front axle sliders and the PP011 rear sliders. The TP052 is listed in our shop for other Aprilia twins too, including the Dorsoduro 750 and the Shiver 750.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor any other proof of approval is available to us for the TP052, which is why we supply the pads for track and competition use.
