DescriptionThe whole story▼
A retro bike invites retro kit. Many Z900RS riders pair the bike with a classic leather jacket and thin, unlined leather gloves, the kind that look right next to a round headlight and a teardrop tank. Those gloves also change how the controls feel: there is less material between hand and lever, more feel in the fingertips, and the lever sits relatively further away than it does in thick textile gloves. The Accossato ESK750 is a clutch lever for the Kawasaki Z900RS of 2018 to 2020, CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised, fitted at the original clutch mounting and adjustable for span.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Kawasaki Z900RS, 2018 to 2020
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Span adjustable for thin or thick gloves
- Blade lengths short, standard (about 138 mm) or long, depending on colour
- Silver and black suit the retro look; five other colours available
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised, black hub
- No folding joint
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining means the ESK750's pivot bore, adjuster seat and blade are shaped to the same tolerances on every lever. Anodising follows. The hub, which holds the span adjuster, stays black on all versions, and the blade is anodised in the colour of your choice; since that colour forms within the surface layer, it does not flake at the edges. The finish is also harder than bare aluminium, which helps where a glove rubs the same spot every day. The lever is fixed, with no folding hinge.
Thin Leather Gloves
Thin gloves reward a lever set closer to the grip. With less padding, the fingers feel the take-up more precisely, and a lever that meets them at the first joint lets that sensitivity work in the friction zone instead of being spent on reaching. On the Z900RS, sit on the bike in the gloves you actually ride in and bring the ESK750 in until the bite point arrives with the fingers slightly curled. If you switch to heavier gloves in autumn, turn it back out again. Either way, pull the lever fully home once after adjusting: there should still be space for the fingers between blade and grip. For the look, a silver blade fits the brightwork of a retro bike and black keeps things discreet. Silver is made in the standard length of approximately 138 mm and as a short lever, black as a standard lever only, and the long blade, in blue, gold, green and orange, adds leverage for a lighter pull.
Fitment and Compatibility
Model years 2018 to 2020 of the Z900RS carry the ESK750 in Accossato's list, under the entry Z 900 RS. It replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting. For the brake side, Accossato names two levers for the Z900RS: the EDF088 for 2018 to 2024, and the EDF021 for a Special Edition of 2018 and 2019.
Road Approval
For the ESK750, Accossato documents no German ABE; the lever is sold for the race track.
Scope of Delivery
