DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some Monkey 125 owners never ride further than the nearest café. Others pack a roll bag, avoid the motorways and set off across the country at their own pace, on roads that bigger bikes rush past. On a trip like that, with the four-speed gearbox working through every hill and village, the left hand is busy all day. The ESH626 from Accossato is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the Monkey 125 of 2019 to 2021, with an adjustable reach that keeps a long day of clutch work comfortable.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda Monkey 125 from 2019 to 2021
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable reach for a relaxed hand
- Long blade for the lightest pull, in blue, gold, green and orange
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm, short also available
- Solid aluminium, machined and anodised
- Black hub, seven blade colours, no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
The ESH626 is milled from solid aluminium on CNC machines, then anodised with a black hub and a blade in one of seven colours. Anodising builds the colour into the outer layer of the metal, so the finish copes with rain, sun and road dust over a long trip without peeling. The hub contains the pivot and the reach adjuster, and the blade is one fixed piece. The clutch therefore feels the same in the evening as it did in the morning.
The Slow Road Trip
With four gears and a small engine, a Monkey 125 on a country road changes gear often. A climb means dropping a gear or two, a village means second or third, and a gentle descent means changing back up again. Over a day in the saddle that adds up to a great many clutch pulls, and a lever that makes each one a stretch leaves the hand tired by the afternoon. Set the ESH626 so the blade meets your fingers without the hand opening wide, and use the lightest pull that frees the clutch cleanly. The long blade gives the most leverage and the lightest action; the standard blade stays closest to the original. Before a long trip, check the free play of the clutch at the lever, and pack the original lever in your luggage as a spare. On a small bike that travels slowly, comfortable details decide how far you want to ride each day, and the left hand is one of them.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH626 for the Monkey 125 from 2019 to 2021, mounted at the original clutch mounting. The EDF025 brake lever is listed for the same bikes and years. Monkeys built in other years are not covered here, so check your model year before ordering.
Road Approval
For this clutch lever no German ABE is documented. It is therefore sold for track use.
