DescriptionThe whole story▼
Moto Guzzi named the Griso after a character in Alessandro Manzoni's novel The Betrothed, a feared henchman, and the bike lives up to the name: long, low and muscular, with its big V-twin set across the frame and a shaft drive to the rear wheel. The Accossato EDF016 is a brake lever for the Griso 1200 8V of 2007 to 2016. The lever is CNC-machined, anodised and fitted to the stock master cylinder, and its span can be adjusted.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V (SE), 2007 to 2016
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable at the hub
- Short, standard (approx. 138 mm) or long blade, depending on colour
- Black hub, blade in one of seven colours
- CNC-machined from solid aluminium, anodised
- One rigid piece without folding joint
- No German ABE documented, for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF016 is milled from solid aluminium rather than cast, then anodised. The result is a lever with sharp, even edges, a hub that is black on every version and a blade in the colour you order. The pivot and the reach adjuster share the hub. Between hub and tip there is no hinge, so the blade stays exactly where it was set and passes every bit of finger pressure to the master cylinder without flex from a joint.
A Lever for a Menacing Silhouette
The Griso was never meant to look friendly, and much of its appeal lies in its outline: the low tank, the long wheelbase, the cylinders standing out at either side. Small parts on such a bike either support that impression or dilute it. A black EDF016 keeps the front of the Griso 1200 8V dark and serious. Gold could pick up warm tones on a dark machine, while red or orange might suit a Griso that already carries accents in those colours. Whatever the colour, the reach deserves as much thought as the look. The Griso places the rider slightly forward over a wide bar, and the brake lever should arrive under the fingertips without the wrist bending. Sit on the bike in your riding gloves, set the adjuster, then make a few gentle stops to confirm the setting before you rely on it at speed.
Fitment and Compatibility
This lever is offered for the Griso 1200 8V from 2007 to 2016. Accossato's list opens a little earlier with a general Griso 1200 entry, but the product begins with the first model year of the 8V. The EDF016 goes on the Griso's original front master cylinder. For the clutch, Accossato's ESC080 is listed for the same 2007 to 2016 period. Black and red blades are made in standard length only; silver in standard and short; blue, gold, green and orange in all three lengths.
Road Approval
This lever lacks a documented German ABE. It is sold for use on the track.
