What It Is
This one measures 50 mm, 34 mm, 64 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Öhlins keeps tooling for older units, which is why parts remain available. Replacement parts come from the same production as the components they go into. Öhlins does not sell service parts as pattern equivalents — there is one specification.
Original Öhlins Part
Suspension is one of the few areas where the original part is genuinely the cheaper decision. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it.
Identifying the Right Part
Order under 10403-03. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. The published dimensions are dimension a 50 mm, dimension b 34 mm, dimension c 64 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Availability of individual parts is one reason Öhlins units stay in service for decades. Ordering by number from the exploded view is the reliable way to get the right piece.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
