A marked inner tube destroys seals repeatedly until it is replaced.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Dimension B 78.5 mm

Öhlins part number 21005-60

Dimension A 36 mm

Where It Sits

Öhlins gives it as 36 mm, 78.5 mm; nothing about that is approximate. Bushings in the fork carry the side load; play there shows up as knocking under braking. A fork tube that has been bent is scrap: straightening changes the wall and it bends again. Fork parts are specific to the fork, not to the motorcycle it happens to be fitted to.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins supports its suspension with individual service parts, which is why a fifteen-year-old damper can still be rebuilt to specification. An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Order under 21005-60. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins states dimension a 36 mm, dimension b 78.5 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Axle clamps are machined so the axle clamps without pinching the fork out of alignment. Öhlins fork parts are specific to the fork model, not interchangeable across the range.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21005-60

Category: Inner Tubes

Dimension A: 36 mm

Dimension B: 78.5 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21005-60_ed4ea422-5d56-4f4c-8ec6-99bc0c3dd162.png?v=1788879237
