The piston carries the shim stacks and meters the oil; its port layout is what makes an Öhlins damper behave the way it does.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Dimension B 32 mm

Dimension A 1.25 mm

Thread M12x1.25

Öhlins part number 21758-03

Function

21758-03 is the 1.25 mm, 32 mm version — Öhlins lists each size separately. Öhlins machines its pistons rather than sintering them, which is why the port edges stay sharp. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. A worn valve bleeds damping away without any visible symptom.

Genuine Service Part

Öhlins keeps service parts available for units long after they leave the current price list. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Service parts are supplied per piece unless the description says otherwise. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.

Getting the Number Right

Order under 21758-03. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. Öhlins states dimension a 1.25 mm, dimension b 32 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre. Valves hold pressure in one direction and open in the other.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21758-03

Category: Valves

Dimension A: 1.25 mm

Dimension B: 32 mm

Thread: M12x1.25

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21758-03_b0574376-41bf-402f-b1b8-aafe270a7e9f.png?v=1788877776
