DescriptionThe whole story▼
RVS stands for Reparto Veicoli Speciali, the department MV Agusta created for special, more individual machines, and the RVS #1 of 2018 was its first. Based on the Brutale 800, it was made for owners who care about every detail of how their bike looks and is finished. On a bike like that, the area around the filler is where paint and fuel meet most often, and it deserves more care than usual. For the RVS #1 800 of 2018, Accossato lists the FC101, a quick-release tank cap cut from aluminium, with the pin on its pawl in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta RVS #1 800, model year 2018
- Aluminium body, CNC-machined throughout
- Quick-closing pawl
- Pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl available as a separate spare
- New design, robust and durable in Accossato's words
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the FC101 completely from CNC-machined aluminium and describes the cap as robust and durable. Its design is new, which suits a bike built to stand apart. The quick-closing pawl opens the RVS #1's tank quickly and closes it again in one movement, and its pin is the part that takes your chosen colour. Should the pawl ever be damaged, Accossato supplies it separately.
Special Paint, Careful Hands
A special edition often wears paint and finishes that would be hard to reproduce, and the area around the filler is where they are most at risk. Fuel is a solvent. Left on paint, it can soften lacquer and leave marks, and some finishes, matt paint among them, react badly to the polishes many riders reach for afterwards. If your RVS #1 has such a finish, treat every refuel as if the paint could not be replaced. Pour slowly from a can with a long spout, with a folded cloth laid round the filler to catch drips. Close the FC101 as soon as the spout is out, then dab away any fuel with a clean, damp microfibre cloth instead of wiping it across the surface. After the day, wash the tank with mild soap and plenty of water and dry it gently. Keep strong degreasers, wheel cleaners and abrasive pads away from the tank altogether, and away from the cap as well.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the RVS#1 800 for 2018 only, with the FC101, and this product covers that model year. With us the same cap is listed for the Brutale 800 and the Brutale 800 RR, and for the Aprilia Tuono 660. Please check your bike against the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
The FC101 has no German ABE and no parts certificate on record, so it is for closed circuits. For the road, the RVS #1 should keep its original cap, which normally opens with the ignition key.
