DescriptionThe whole story▼

Nobody picks a Beta RR 480 four-stroke for low weight. Riders choose it for the torque and for the calm way it covers fast, open ground. The price is paid when the bike goes down on awkward terrain and has to be lifted, sometimes several times on a hard day. The C7283 is Accossato's clutch lever for the RR 480 four-stroke from 2015 to 2022, milled from Ergal 7075, with a long four-finger blade on a joint that lets it fold if the bike lands on it.

Key Features

  • Folding clutch lever for the Beta RR 480 four-stroke, 2015 to 2022
  • Fits in place of the standard lever at the original clutch mount
  • Long blade, designed by Accossato for four fingers
  • Anti-break joint can let the blade fold forward instead of breaking
  • Machined from solid Ergal 7075, made in Italy
  • Blade in black, blue, orange or red; dark base
  • No German ABE documented; for off-road use

Construction and Material Quality

Ergal 7075 has a long history in aircraft construction, where strength for little weight matters as much as it does on a handlebar. Accossato mills the C7283 from a solid piece of it in Italy and names strength, low weight and reliability as its aims. The lever divides into a dark base at the pivot and a coloured blade that hangs from a folding joint; because it works the clutch, the blade is long, and four fingers can wrap round it.

Picking Up a Big Four-Stroke

There is a technique for lifting a heavy enduro bike, and most riders learn it the hard way. Squat with your back against the seat, grip the handlebar and a solid point at the rear, and push with your legs rather than your arms. On a slope it often helps to swing the bike round first, so that you are not lifting it against the hill. Every fall and every lift loads the lever on the lower side, and when the RR 480 four-stroke lies on its left, that is the clutch lever, pressed between the bar and the ground.

Levers do not only suffer in the fall itself; they can also bend while the bike is being dragged round or heaved upright, when its weight rests on the end of the bar. The joint on the C7283 gives the blade a way to fold forward and out of the load, so it has a better chance of coming through both the impact and the struggle that follows. Once the Beta RR 480 four-stroke is upright, a working clutch makes restarting on the slope and riding away gently far easier than pushing the bike to somewhere flat.

Fitment and Compatibility

The C7283 replaces the stock clutch lever on the Beta RR 480 four-stroke of 2015 to 2022, which is the model and period Accossato gives for it. For the front brake the listing adds the B8206, a folding lever for the same years. Black, blue and red are offered for both; orange is exclusive to the clutch lever.

Road Approval

The C7283 has no German ABE. Mounted on a registered RR 480 four-stroke it is not approved for public roads; it is intended for off-road riding and competition.

Scope of Delivery
