DescriptionThe whole story▼
Yamaha has painted its R-series sports bikes in a distinctive racing blue for many years, and the small YZF-R25 carries that tradition just like its larger siblings. Owners who take an R25 to the circuit often want new parts to look as if they had been there from the start. For the R25 of 2015 and 2016, Accossato offers the FT069, an adjustable aluminium rearset in all black or in black with blue details. It sets the pegs further back than stock, has knurled pegs and lever tips, and can be shifted in the standard or reversed pattern.

Construction and Material Quality
The FT069 is made of aluminium and follows the simple, functional design Accossato describes. The footpegs are knurled, and so are the tips of the gear lever and brake pedal; aluminium heel guards complete the kit. According to Accossato the rearsets are adjustable. Its description gives no details on how, so we leave that point open. The company behind the kit counts an enduro world title from 1985 among its achievements, although these rearsets are made for tarmac.
Blue Details or All Black
On a small sports bike the rearsets are more visible than you might expect. Seen from the side, the pegs, levers and heel guards sit just below the seat and form part of the bike's outline. That makes the choice of version more than an afterthought. On an R25 in Yamaha's racing blue, the version with blue details picks up the colour of the bodywork and makes the rearsets look like part of the original design. On an R25 in any other colour, the all-black version is usually the calmer choice, because it blends into the lower part of the bike and lets the paint speak for itself. Blue details can also tie in with other blue parts you may already have fitted. Whichever you choose, the plain design keeps the look tidy: Accossato has not added decorative shapes, so the rearsets look purposeful rather than flashy. Remember that colour is only part of the decision. The shift pattern and the rearward foot position will influence your riding far more.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FT069 for the YZF-R25 of the 2015 and 2016 model years. For installation we recommend a workshop: the shift and brake linkages must be adjusted, free play at the rear brake checked and the brake light tested. Torque the fasteners to Yamaha's values and use thread locker as specified. The reversed shift pattern is common on the track but unusual for road riding. Sit on the R25 on its stand before riding and make sure your feet find the pegs naturally.
Road Approval
The FT069 comes without a documented German ABE or Teilegutachten, and we therefore offer it exclusively for riding on closed circuits.
