Of the four Euro 4 slip-on options Spark builds for the Bonneville T120, this is the least conspicuous: a body that tapers rather than flares, under a matt black ceramic surface.
Key Features
- Pair of Sinfonia slip-on silencers in Black Series finish for the Triumph Bonneville T120.
- AISI 304 stainless steel under a black ceramic treatment.
- Euro 4 homologated — approval released by the Italian Ministry of Transport.
- 3,7 kg against 7,1 kg for the standard silencers.
- Supplied with the connecting pipes for standard lateral mounting.
- Fits with the original catalytic converter in place.
A Tapered Body in Matt Black
The Sinfonia narrows continuously from its front bracket to a small rolled outlet, and the ceramic finish removes the last thing that would have drawn attention to it. There is no bright edge at the tip and no highlight running along the body — the silencer registers as an outline rather than an object.
Against a T120 in Jet Black this is close to invisible from ten paces. Against one of the two-tone colourways it becomes a dark line under the tank stripe, which is roughly what the factory pipework does but in half the weight.
The Coating, and What It Costs
Black Series is a ceramic treatment applied over the same stainless component, not a lacquer. It is bonded to the metal, so the heat of a silencer does not lift it or turn it brown at the hot end the way high-temperature paint tends to after a season or two.
It carries a 156 euro premium over the brushed GTR0209IOM. That is the entire difference between the two article numbers — the bodies, the pipes, the brackets and the approval are shared.
Euro 4, Issued in Italy
The type approval for this pair was released by the Italian Ministry of Transport and covers the silencers as supplied, mounted downstream of the motorcycle's own catalytic converter. Nothing is removed from the emissions path.
For an owner who wants the exhaust to look modified and the documents to look standard, that combination is the point of the article.
Keeping It Black
A ceramic surface wants mild soap and a soft cloth, and nothing abrasive. Metal polish, cutting compound and the harsher wheel cleaners are all designed to remove material, which is the opposite of what a coated exhaust needs.
Left alone and washed normally, the finish stays even. The failure mode people report with black exhausts almost always traces back to something aggressive applied to them.
Medium Revs, Which Is Where It Is Ridden
Spark states the performance improvement at medium engine speeds. On a big, torque-forward parallel twin that is where the useful part of the range sits, and it is a claim that describes ordinary riding rather than a dyno peak.
Fitment & Compatibility
Triumph Bonneville T120, 2016 to 2018. The brushed stainless version of this pair is GTR0209IOM at 856 euro. The flared Trumpet shape in the same black finish is GTR0208BOM. The full 2-in-2 system in Black Series is GTR8804BOM.
Road Approval
Euro 4 homologated, approval released by the Italian Ministry of Transport, with the original catalytic converter retained.
