Nearly Three Kilos

5,0 kg standard, 2,1 kg fitted. The Tiger's original silencer is a large steel item with a heavy shield, and replacing it is the single largest weight change available to an owner of this motorcycle.

All of it comes off high and to the right, which is exactly where a tall crossover feels mass when it is being paddled around or lifted off the side stand.

Where the Triple Works

Spark describes the Tiger as wiry and ready at medium-low revs, and says the slip-on improves performance there rather than at the top. That is the honest claim on a 888 cc triple built for torque, and it matches how the motorcycle is actually ridden.

Spark also notes the sound becomes more engaging — a triple has an unusual firing order and an exhaust can either sharpen that voice or flatten it.

Full Titanium With a Carbon Cap

The case is titanium throughout, closed by a carbon fibre end cap. Spark's own phrasing is that the cap enhances the titanium silencer, which in plainer terms means the two materials are meant to be seen together rather than one hiding the other.

A Certificate for All of Europe

The homologation was released by the Italian Ministry of Transport and, in Spark's words, guarantees safe use on all roads throughout Europe. On a touring machine that travels across borders, that is the specification that matters most.

The Tiger 900, Tiger 900 GT and Tiger 900 Rally from 2020 to 2023, including the GT Pro, GT Low and the Aragon editions on the same platform.

The Black Version

The identical silencer under Spark's black ceramic treatment is GTR0303BOM at 951 euro — 131 euro more, for the finish alone.

What Is Replaced

The silencer only. Manifold, catalytic converter and sensors stay as Triumph built them, which is what the Euro 5 approval is written around and why the job takes an hour with hand tools.

Made in Italy

Spark builds in Mantova. The titanium case, the TIG work and the carbon cap all come from the same factory, which at this price is less common than the marketing suggests.
