A Scheduled Step on an R Build
On an R prepared for a season, the throttle kit goes on first and this block follows to give the displaced controls somewhere to sit. It is a planned stage of the build rather than an afterthought fitted once something is already missing.
Bronze Alongside Titanium Hardware
The Ergal 7075 body is anodised bronze, a finish grown into the aluminium rather than coated over it. On an R already carrying lightweight fasteners throughout, a switch with a deliberate, durable colour fits the rest of the specification. Matching hardware like this is a small detail, but one an R owner tends to notice.
Reduced to What Racing Needs
This is the race layout, limited strictly to circuit-relevant functions rather than the complete street set. On a homologation model built to satisfy competition rules, that reduction is consistent with the rest of the bike's purpose. Nothing here is missing by accident; it was left out because a circuit has no use for it.
No Mounting of Its Own
The switch attaches exclusively to JetPrime's quick throttle, so an R without that throttle fitted first has nowhere for this part to go. The build sequence is fixed by that dependency. There is no separate bar-clamp to fall back on if that order is ignored.
The Homologation Version
The V4 R exists because competition rules require a road-going version of a race engine, built to a shorter stroke than its siblings. A race-layout switch suits exactly the kind of track-focused use this model was designed around.
