DescriptionThe whole story▼

A Z900 kept clean through a riding season tends to show it first at the swingarm, and Accossato's rubber-protected bobbin helps with exactly that, adding a sleeve at the point a paddock stand's forks grip so the anodised finish takes less of the wear than a bare bobbin would. The thread, M8, and the aluminium body underneath match the uncovered version precisely, right down to the colours on offer at checkout.

Key Features

  • Swingarm stand bobbins for the Kawasaki Z900, 2017-2018
  • M8 thread, with rubber protection
  • Aluminium, anodised finish, rubber sleeve on the bobbin
  • Sold as a pair, one bobbin per side
  • Seven colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
  • Also fits other applications with an M8 swingarm thread
  • ST002 is the same bobbin without rubber protection
  • No German ABE on file; offered for track use

Construction and Material Quality

This bobbin starts from the uncovered ST002 and adds just one thing: a rubber sleeve wrapped around the point where a stand's forks make contact. The aluminium body, the M8 thread and the seven anodised colours, blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium and gold, carry over unchanged from one listing to the other, with no difference in how either one is fitted.

Keeping a Sharp Design Looking the Part

The Z900's styling rewards a bit of upkeep more than a plainer naked might, since its sharper lines draw the eye to details that would go unnoticed on a less deliberately designed bike. A scuffed bobbin stands out against that kind of attention to design, and the rubber sleeve here is a small, inexpensive way to keep that one point from undoing the rest of the effort that went into keeping the rest of the bike looking sharp.

Fitment and Compatibility

This rubber-protected bobbin fits the same 2017 to 2018 Z 900 build as ST002. Nothing about the M8 thread is specific to this model: the Z1000, Z1000SX, Z650 and Z800 take it inside Kawasaki's range, the ZX-10R and ZX-6R alongside them, and the BMW S1000R and S1000RR, three Honda models and the Suzuki GSR750 take it outside. ST002, bare rather than protected, is also listed for this Z900, and is the only real alternative on offer.

Road Approval

No test or approval paperwork, including an ABE, is held for this bobbin, so it is offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two rubber-protected bobbins are supplied, one per side, in the colour chosen at checkout. No stand or mounting tools come with the pack.
