DescriptionThe whole story▼

Most of the clutch work on an XDiavel happens below walking pace. Easing out of a parking space, turning the long cruiser round in a narrow street, holding it on a slope at a junction: each time, the left hand decides how gently the drive reaches the rear wheel. The Accossato ESH011 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the 2016 to 2020 XDiavel, fitted at the original clutch mounting, with a blade you can bring closer to the grip or move further out.

Key Features

  • Clutch lever for the Ducati XDiavel, 2016 to 2020
  • Fits the original clutch mounting
  • Reach adjustable, adjuster close to the pivot
  • Standard, short or long blade; the standard one approximately 138 mm
  • Machined aluminium, anodised, with a black hub and a coloured blade
  • Rigid construction without a folding joint

Construction and Material Quality

The ESH011 is machined, not cast. Accossato mills it from aluminium and anodises it in two tones, so the hub around the pivot is black and the blade carries one of seven colours: black, silver, red, gold, blue, orange or green. The anodised layer is hard and forms part of the metal, which counts on the clutch side, where a gloved hand slides on and off the blade many times on every ride. With no joint anywhere along its length, the lever keeps the friction point in the same place under your fingers.

Walking Pace and Hill Starts

A long wheelbase and a low seat make the XDiavel calm on the move, and they turn slow manoeuvres into an exercise in clutch control. In a U-turn you keep the revs steady and let the clutch slip just enough to keep the bike rolling on a tight line. Release too much and it surges; pull in too far and it starts to drop into the turn. A hill start asks for the same precision, with the rear brake holding the bike while the clutch takes up. Both are easier when the friction point lies within easy reach rather than at the end of a long stretch of the fingers. The adjuster lets you place that point where your hand is most precise. On the clutch side, blade length also changes the effort. A long ESH011, made in blue, gold, green and orange, pulls more lightly thanks to its extra leverage, while the short blade is more compact but firmer.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the ESH011 for the Ducati XDiavel from 2016 to 2020. The EDF099 brake lever for the same bike is listed until 2022, which means a 2021 or 2022 XDiavel is covered on the brake side only. The clutch lever replaces the stock one at the original mounting. Black and red blades are only made in the standard length, silver in standard or short. If the controls on your bike are not original, compare them with the product photos first.

Road Approval

No German road approval (ABE) is on file for the ESH011. It is sold for track use.
