DescriptionThe whole story▼
If you ride your Panigale 1299 hard on both road and track and want the gear-change precision that WorldSBK riders rely on, the LighTech FTRDU016/W rearset system delivers genuine GP-Shift functionality without the complexity of a full race conversion. Designed specifically for the Ducati Panigale 1299 and 1299 S (2015–2018), it is a complete, bolt-on upgrade that makes a real difference every time you click through the gears.
Key Features
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075-T6 aluminium for an outstanding strength-to-weight ratio and long-term rigidity under hard use
- Integrated GP-Shift (reverse gear pattern) as used in Superbike World Championship competition — precision shifting with every upchange under acceleration
- Up to three ball bearings per lever for a completely play-free, direct feel on the shift and brake pedals in all conditions
- Multiple adjustment positions for footpeg height and setback, letting you dial in your riding position precisely
- Available in two configurations: rigid footpegs (FTRDU016) or folding footpegs (FTRDU016W) — choose whichever suits your day-to-day use
- All individual components available separately, keeping long-term maintenance costs sensible
- Mounting hardware included — no sourcing of additional fasteners required
Built for Everyday Use and Track Days Alike
LighTech engineered these rearsets with the kind of rider in mind who uses the same machine commuting on a Tuesday and lapping a circuit on the weekend. The Ergal 7075-T6 construction means the system handles the repetitive stress of daily riding without loosening or flexing, while the ball-bearing lever pivots stay smooth and precise regardless of temperature or mileage. The folding footpeg variant (FTRDU016W) is a particularly practical choice if the bike sees mixed use: pegs that fold on an unexpected tip-over rather than snapping protect your investment over time. The rigid version (FTRDU016) is the cleaner, lighter option when track performance is the sole priority.
GP-Shift — What It Means in Practice
GP-Shift reverses the standard gear-change pattern so that all upshifts are made with a downward press of the lever. Under hard acceleration out of a corner, your foot naturally pushes down, which means the shift action works with your body rather than against it. This is the pattern used in MotoGP and WorldSBK, and on a 1299 Panigale it transforms the feel of the gearbox during spirited riding. Note: this rearset system is engineered exclusively for reverse (GP-Shift) operation and is not compatible with the standard shift pattern. Ensure you are comfortable with GP-Shift before fitting.

This rearset system is a direct fitment for the following motorcycles:
