The K-Tech RAZOR-R is a genuine step up from the YZF-R3's standard rear suspension — one that makes itself felt on every road ride as much as on a track day. K-Tech designed the RAZOR-R as a road-oriented performance shock that punches well above its price point. The 35 mm RCPU body and 14 mm RCPU shaft are dimensioned for durability and precise damping response, while the 46-150 series spring rated at 160 N delivers the progressive feel that makes the YZF-R3 feel planted and communicative in real-world traffic as much as at a circuit. At 276 mm total length with a generous ±5 mm length tolerance and 48 mm of stroke, the geometry fits the R3 platform exactly as intended, so there is no compromise on ground clearance or steering characteristics.
On Road and on Track
For commuters and sports riders using their R3 day-to-day, the RAZOR-R's wide adjustment range means a comfortable, compliant setup for longer rides is only a few clicks away. For track days or sprint events, the same adjusters allow a firmer, more responsive damping character without swapping any components. The nitrogen charge ensures the shock performs with the same consistency on lap twenty as it did on lap one — a tangible advantage over the factory unit, which relies on oil alone.
Installation Note
K-Tech specify that fitting must be carried out by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre. Specialist tools and technical knowledge are required to ensure maximum performance and safety of the shock absorber.
