DescriptionThe whole story▼

Riders who race or run intense track programmes with a Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX sometimes look for a front pad that behaves differently from conventional racing compounds. Accossato offers the AGPA109 front pad in the ZXC ceramic racing mixture for the 2020 to 2024 model. Accossato describes ZXC as a ceramic compound ideal for racing, and it suits riders who want to tune their braking over a race weekend.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA109 for the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX, 2020 to 2024
  • ZXC ceramic racing compound, SKU AGPA109ZXC
  • Accossato: a ceramic compound for racing
  • For race weekends and intensive track use
  • An alternative feel to conventional racing pads
  • Also offered as ST, EV1 and EV2
  • No ABE held; for racing

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato calls ZXC a ceramic compound ideal for racing. On a Ninja 1000 SX used on track, that means a pad designed for the high loads and temperatures of racing, with a feel that some riders prefer to conventional racing compounds. A ceramic-based block feels different at the lever, and riders who try it usually form a clear opinion after a session or two. Accossato also states that its pads resist fade and keep delivering stopping power. The ZXC friction layer is mounted on the regular AGPA109 plate.

Tuning Brakes Over a Race Weekend

Over a race weekend, riders and mechanics fine-tune the bike session by session. Brake feel is part of that process: lever position, fluid, pads and bedding all play a role. A ceramic racing compound like ZXC gives the team another option to find the right feel for the rider and the track.

In the pit box, check the pads after every session for glazing or uneven wear. Keep the fluid fresh and bleed the system before the weekend. When switching compounds, clean the disc thoroughly to remove deposits from the old pads, and bed the new ones in carefully.

Fitment and Compatibility

ZXC shares its plate with the other front compounds for this bike: AGPA109, which Accossato assigns to the Ninja 1000 SX from 2020 up to 2024. If the rear also needs attention, look for AGPP102. Accossato does not list a disc for the SX in the data available to us. Two calipers grip the twin front discs, so a complete front change takes two boxes. Before the first session, confirm that the new pads match the ones coming out.

Road Approval

AGPA109ZXC has no ABE or German approval document in our possession. It is intended for racing.
