DescriptionThe whole story▼

The KTM 890 Duke R was built to attack corners, yet plenty of owners use one for long days in the mountains, leaving after breakfast with a tank bag and a spare pair of gloves and rolling home as the light fades. By late afternoon the feet have spent hours on the pegs, and small details start to count. On the 890 Duke R of 2020 to 2023, Accossato's FT102 touring pegs can take over that job: CNC-machined aluminium with a notch that helps the boot stay put even when tired legs relax.

Key Features

  • Touring footpegs for the KTM 890 Duke R, 2020 to 2023
  • Aluminium, CNC-machined
  • Black anodised finish with a red insert
  • Notch in the surface to improve boot grip
  • Front version for the rider, rear version for a passenger
  • Each version sold on its own
  • No ABE on record for German roads; track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato produces the FT102 from CNC-worked aluminium and finishes it in black anodising with a red insert. The pegs also carry a special notch whose purpose, in the maker's words, is to increase the boot's grip. For a part you will stand on, rest on and push against for hours at a time, that is the property that counts most.

A Long Day on the Pegs

Long rides wear the feet down in ways you seldom notice until the evening. Thick touring boots keep out cold and rain, but their stiff soles dull the feel for the peg, and after a few hours many riders find that their feet have drifted, either back onto the heels or out towards the ends of the pegs. Every time you move them back into place, you spend a little concentration that the road deserves more.

A few habits help. Change the position of your feet deliberately every so often, from the balls to the arches and back, to spread the pressure. On a quiet straight, stand up for a few seconds and let the blood return to your legs. Stop for a break before your concentration fades rather than after. The notched surface of the FT102 supports all of this simply by holding the sole where you put it, so that relaxing your legs does not mean losing your footing. If a passenger comes along on a tour with the 890 Duke R, the rear version gives them the same grip during the long hours behind you.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists the FT102 for the Duke 890 R from 2020 to 2023. The front version takes the place of the rider's pegs and the rear version that of the passenger's; they are ordered separately. Fitting belongs in a workshop, with fasteners tightened to KTM's specified torque.

Road Approval

Neither an ABE nor a parts certificate is documented for the FT102. We therefore offer it for the track and not for use on German roads.
