DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Ducati Multistrada 950 is the Multistrada with the smaller engine and the entry point to the family. For riders stepping up to a tall touring bike it is an obvious candidate, and one of the first things they learn is how much riding happens at a standstill or at walking pace, with feet going down and back up again. Accossato's FT102 touring footpegs for the Multistrada 950 of 2017 to 2020 are machined from aluminium, anodised black with a red insert, and have a notch for extra boot grip.

Key Features

  • Touring footpegs for the Ducati Multistrada 950, 2017–2020
  • Listed for the 950, 950 S and Touring versions
  • Aluminium machined on CNC equipment
  • Black anodised, red insert
  • Notch for a firmer boot grip
  • Front and rear sets, each sold separately
  • No German ABE on record; for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The FT102 is easy to describe. It is an aluminium footpeg shaped on CNC machines, anodised black, with a red insert as its visible accent. A notch that Accossato designed into the peg gives the boot a firmer grip. Accossato offers front and rear pegs as separate sets, so the rider's and the passenger's pegs can be replaced independently. Anodised aluminium needs little more than water and a mild soap to stay presentable, which suits a bike that is used rather than polished.

Where Your Feet Go at a Standstill

Stopping and starting on a tall bike is a skill of its own. As you come to a halt on the Multistrada 950, the left foot goes down while the right stays on its peg and covers the rear brake. That way the brake holds the bike while you wait, and your left leg supports it. Moving off, the left foot comes back up to find the peg and the gear lever, usually without you looking. On a slope or a cambered junction, a foot that misses the peg or slides off it can leave you off balance at walking pace, which is when many tip-overs happen. A notched peg helps the boot settle quickly. Practise stops and starts in an empty car park until the sequence runs without thought, and choose riding boots with a firm sole and a proper heel; they give the notch something solid to work with.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's list for the Multistrada 950 is long and covers 2017 to 2020: the standard 950, the Touring, the 950 S of 2019 and 2020, the versions Accossato calls SW, and bikes for the US, Thai and Brazilian markets. When the pegs go on, a workshop should tighten the fasteners to Ducati's figures, apply thread locker as specified and check that your boots still reach the shift lever and the brake pedal comfortably.

Road Approval

Approval for German roads is not documented for the FT102: no ABE, no parts certificate. We sell it for track use, and for public roads the Multistrada 950 keeps its original footpegs.
