DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some Tiger 800 XCX owners ride their adventure bike with real enthusiasm on sinuous back roads, and a few take it to a circuit for a first track day. For them Accossato produces front pad AGPA29 in its EV1 street/track compound. The part fits the Triumph Tiger 800 XCX of 2018 to 2020 and targets the rider who brakes later and harder than a commuter, who enjoys a strong initial bite, and who may book an amateur session on a closed course once or twice a season.
Key Features
- AGPA29EV1 front pad, EV1 street/track compound
- For the Triumph Tiger 800 XCX, model years 2018 to 2020
- Accossato: excellent grip for spirited road riding and amateur track use
- Suited to enthusiastic back-road riders and first track days
- Two pads in the box, one front caliper
- Also produced in OR, ST and STMX
- Rear pad AGPP89 available from Accossato
Construction and Material Quality
EV1 is described by Accossato as a compound with excellent grip for street riding and for amateur use on track. It sits between the everyday mixes and the pure racing ones, and it is meant to be driven with some purpose. The manufacturer adds that its pads in general wear slowly, stay resistant to fade through limited heat build-up and deliver a strong stop, qualities that matter most when a tall adventure bike is being hustled.
From Back Roads to a First Track Day
A spirited ride on a mountain road asks the front brake for repeated firm stops, often from higher speeds than daily riding. A mix with a stronger bite gives confidence into tight corners and lets you trail off the lever precisely. For a first track day on the XCX, the same qualities help: braking points come round every lap, and a pad chosen for that use keeps working lap after lap. Before a session, check pad thickness and fluid condition, and after it let the brakes cool properly before parking. Riders who mostly commute or tour two-up will be better served by the OR or ST pad for the same Tiger.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA29 for the Tiger 800 XCX of 2018 to 2020, and no other years are claimed for this item. Two front calipers mean two boxes for the full axle. The rear of the XCX takes Accossato AGPP89. Renew pads axle by axle, bed them in with a series of controlled stops, and keep the disc surface clean of fingerprints and spray lubricants.
Road Approval
Our records contain no German ABE or other test documentation for AGPA29EV1, so it is intended for track and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
