Reservoir caps carry the gas valve and are torqued to a specification. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it.

Genuine Service Part

Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Order under 21514-01. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. The thread is M8. The reservoir hose carries the full gas charge and is pressure-tested accordingly. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21514-01

Category: Hoses

Thread: M8

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21514-01_79996f1b-e1d5-445a-ac39-a3f65ac06df5.png?v=1788879602
