DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MY002 is Accossato's quick-throttle control for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 built between 2009 and 2016, supplied with the matched SU004 cable set and the GR001 one-tone grip in a choice of eight colours. It is a complete kit rather than a bare housing: the cable cut for this GSX-R1000 generation and the grip itself come with it, along with three interchangeable inner cams for adjusting how the throttle opens once fitted.
Key Features
- Accossato quick-throttle control built specifically for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 (2009–2016)
- Supplied with the matched SU004 throttle cable set
- GR001 one-tone racing grip included, choice of eight grip colours
- Eight cap colours for the anodised throttle housing
- Three interchangeable inner cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, included
- Housing made from two CNC-worked aluminium half-rings
- Sold under code MY002
Construction and Material Quality
Like every kit in this range, the MY002 pairs a two-half-ring aluminium housing, anodised in eight cap colours, with the one-tone GR001 grip in a further eight colours of its own. Three interchangeable inner cams, 40, 43 and 45 mm, sit inside the housing and set how the throttle's stroke behaves once fitted, with Accossato linking a larger diameter to a quicker, longer-travel response and a smaller one to a shorter, slower one. For this listing the included cable is the SU004, cut specifically to the pre-2017 GSX-R1000's own routing rather than a generic length that would need adapting to the bike.
Eight Years of GSX-R1000 Behind One Cable
Because the SU004 cable included with this kit already covers the GSX-R1000 built from 2009 to 2016 under one code, fitting the MY002 to any bike in that span is the same job regardless of exactly which sub-year it is, something not every model in Accossato's range can say. That makes the kit a reasonably safe purchase for an owner who knows their bike is a pre-2017 GSX-R1000 but is less certain of the precise year, since the same MY002 and SU004 pairing applies across that whole span rather than being split by sub-year.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the MY002 for the Suzuki GSX-R1000 built between 2009 and 2016; its SU004 cable does not reach the current GSX-R1000 introduced from 2017, which takes a separate kit shown on the Fitment tab. The assembly as a whole, not just the housing, replaces the Suzuki's original throttle control and cable run.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY002; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. After fitting, confirm that the throttle returns to idle by itself through its full range before riding the bike.
