Construction and Material Quality
Every piece of the FC107 is aluminium, shaped by Accossato on CNC machines. The Italian maker calls the cap robust and long-lasting, and it gave it a fresh look instead of following the lines of the Ducati part. What makes it quick in use is the closing pawl, designed so the tank can be opened and shut with little effort. The pawl carries the colour you choose; the rest of the cap is not described as coloured. If the pawl is ever bent or broken, Accossato supplies it on its own, so a damaged catch does not mean buying a complete new cap.
Two Caps, Two Jobs
Owners who alternate between touring and track days soon settle into a routine, because the Multistrada V2 S has to return to its road configuration after every circuit visit. The original cap is what makes the change reversible, so give it a fixed home: a labelled bag in the garage cabinet, or the tool roll that travels to the track. Swap only once the engine has cooled and the bike stands securely on a paddock stand. Wipe the filler neck and its surroundings before the new cap goes on, because grit trapped under a seal is the usual reason for a weeping filler. After filling up, look along the edge of the cap for any sign of fuel, and look again after the first session. Because Multistrada names have been reused over the years, match your bike against the application list before ordering rather than relying on the name alone.
