A Black Bell

The flare is the feature of this silencer and black is the finish that makes it read as a shape rather than as a reflection. On a bright case the eye catches the highlight running along the taper; on a black one it follows the outline instead, and the bell at the end becomes the thing you notice.

Whether that is better depends entirely on the machine. It is a different silencer to look at, not a more expensive version of the same one.

Why Factory Black Costs More

Because it is done before the article leaves Mantova, on a case that was built for the treatment, and not sprayed onto a finished part afterwards. The coverage reaches the inside of the bell and the area around the mounting lug, which is where an aftermarket job usually gives itself away.

It also means the finish and the warranty come from the same place.

Where It Belongs

A blacked Trumpet suits a machine with a dark frame and a dark engine, where a bright bell would pull the eye away from everything else. On a bike with chrome anywhere, the bright G00SI12I is the honest choice and costs a hundred and seven euro less.

Care, Briefly

Nothing abrasive and nothing solvent-based. Road salt should come off the same week rather than the following spring. Beyond that the surface asks for less attention than brushed stainless does, because there is no grain to keep aligned.
