Forged Construction and Material Quality
The Gass RS-A is not a styling exercise — it is a purpose-built performance wheel. OZ uses a hot-forging process that aligns the aluminium grain structure under immense pressure, producing a wheel that is simultaneously lighter and structurally superior to conventional cast alternatives. The anodised surface treatment is integral to the metal rather than a coating applied on top, delivering corrosion resistance and colour depth that remains consistent across thousands of miles of use.
The four available anodised finishes — gloss black, techno black, techno gold, and titanium — are each applied with the same care OZ applies to its WorldSBK-supplied components. Performance on Road and Track
Swapping to forged wheels is one of the highest-impact upgrades available for any performance motorcycle. Because rotating unsprung mass has a compounding effect on suspension response, braking stability, and corner entry, even a modest reduction in wheel weight noticeably sharpens the YZF-R6's already committed character. The Gass RS-A is designed specifically to exploit this principle, with a spoke geometry developed from OZ's WorldSBK data and refined for street-legal fitment.
Fitment and Compatibility
This wheel is designed and manufactured specifically for the Yamaha YZF-R6 covering model years 2003 to 2016. Please note that the original Yamaha rear sprocket is not compatible with the Gass RS-A sprocket carrier; a replacement sprocket must be fitted. Spacers are included and fitted only where required for correct installation.
