The JP ACC BM038 is the ride-by-wire quick throttle for the M1000RR, machined from solid and built to reach wide open in a considerably shorter sweep of the hand.

BMW's Homologation Superbike
Titanium rods, a higher rev ceiling and aerodynamics developed for racing. The M1000RR exists so BMW can compete, and most examples spend real time on circuits.
Grip Rubber
The tube takes a standard grip. Anybody moving an expensive pair across should expect to cut the old ones off rather than persuade them.
Free Play
A standard assembly develops a small dead zone at the closed position with age. A machined one starts without it and keeps it that way.
Fault Codes Without the Reset
The controller compares what it reads against what it stored and reports a throttle position fault. It is not a subtle failure and it appears immediately.
Off Road
Standing on the pegs changes the wrist angle completely, and a sensitive throttle is harder to meter on a loose surface than on tarmac.
Who Should Not Buy This
Anybody whose riding is mostly urban, mostly two-up or mostly in the wet. The part rewards deliberate throttle use and punishes casual throttle use.
Why It Is Plug and Play
The motorcycle's own connector goes into the new assembly unchanged. Everything difficult about a ride-by-wire conversion was already solved by the manufacturer.
What Goes Slack Over Time
The standard tube turns inside a moulded bore and the pair develop play. It shows as a dead zone before anything happens and a rattle at the bar end. Almost nobody identifies it, because it arrives slowly and the hand adapts.
The Busiest Control
On a fast road or a circuit the right grip is moved more often than any other control on the motorcycle, and usually while the rider is doing something else as well. Reducing the distance it has to travel is a small change made many hundreds of times an hour.
