The JP ESR 012 is a passive answer for the Panigale 1199 S's rear suspension circuit, with nothing powered, nothing configured and nothing that ages electrically.

The 2014 Revision
Ducati addressed the chassis criticism partway through the run, and the later bikes are noticeably better resolved. The model year matters when buying used.
Not an Upgrade in Itself
The eliminator changes nothing about how the motorcycle rides. It exists so that a conversion already decided upon does not leave a permanent warning on the panel.
The Limp Mode Problem
A suspension fault does not only light the panel. On several models the controller withholds riding modes and drops the electronics to a default state, which is not what anybody wants at a circuit.
Not a Legal Question
Suspension electronics are not part of any emissions or lighting approval. The consideration here is engineering rather than paperwork.
Riding Modes
On several models a suspension fault removes access to modes that otherwise work perfectly. Answering the circuit puts those back where they belong.
The Cost Argument
Rebuilding an electronic leg costs a substantial fraction of a conventional cartridge, and the conventional one can then be revalved by anybody competent.
What the Eliminator Does
It presents a resistance inside the expected window, potted into a body carrying Ducati's own connector. No signal is generated and nothing is intercepted.
Why Riders Convert for the Track
An algorithm reading wheel speed and brake pressure is making a compromise for conditions it infers. A rider who knows the circuit, the tyre and the fuel load can choose a spring and a valving stack that beats that compromise every lap, which is the whole argument and it applies nowhere else as cleanly.
