The JP CJP 042B gives the G 650 complete management of its fuel map, adjusted on a laptop rather than shipped with a curve somebody else worked out.

A Single From Rotax
BMW's 652 cc thumper powered a whole family of machines, and its injection is about as straightforward as fuel injection gets on a motorcycle.
Or Pay Somebody
A tuner with a dyno will develop a map on this unit in a few hours. That costs money and produces a better result than most owners manage alone.
When to Stop
A map that no longer produces a measurable improvement is finished. Chasing the last percent on a road bike costs more evenings than it returns in anything anybody can feel.
Not a Standard-Bike Product
An unmodified motorcycle with the factory exhaust has no use for a programmable map. The manufacturer says as much by listing racing modifications as the reason.
Paying for a Map
A dyno session with somebody who knows the engine costs a fraction of the motorcycle and delivers in hours what a winter of evenings might not.
Lean Is the Only Real Danger
Everything else about mapping is reversible and forgiving. A map leaned out where the engine is loaded is the one mistake with a repair bill attached.
What the Dealer Sees
An additional box under the seat. It unplugs in minutes, and most owners remove it before an appointment and reconnect it the same evening.
Gear-Dependent Behaviour
The map has no gear axis. What feels different in first and sixth is load, and the map already accounts for that if the load axis is set up correctly.
The Cost of the Whole Setup
The unit, a wideband sensor and a bung welded into the exhaust. Together they cost less than a decent silencer, and without the sensor the unit is an ornament with a USB socket.
