A Sports Tourer With a Superbike Engine

One Connector

An Ageing Solenoid
On older Kawasakis the valve itself fails, producing exactly the fault an owner creates by removing it. A fair number of these are fitted as repairs rather than modifications.
What Actually Improves
A quieter overrun, no stored fault and one fewer perishable component on a hot cylinder head. That is the complete and honest list.
Not a Universal Part
Resistances and connectors vary across the range, and fitting the wrong one produces a different fault rather than none. Ordering against the exact model year avoids that entirely.
Two Parts, Two Prices
Kawasaki's arrangement splits neatly, which means an owner can address the fault now and the mechanical side later. Buying the kit is cheaper than buying both.
Living With the Lamp
Some riders do, which works until an unrelated fault appears and cannot be distinguished from the one that has been there for two years. A clean panel has diagnostic value.
Not the Silencer Butterfly
Several Kawasakis also carry a servo-operated valve inside the exhaust, which is an entirely separate system with an entirely separate purpose. Confusing the two leads directly to ordering a part that will not fit anything.
