The JP ES 007 is what stops the Multistrada 950 reporting a secondary air fault once the solenoid has been unbolted from the cylinder head and taken off the motorcycle.

The Cost of the Shortcut
A jumper wire produces a resistance the controller was not looking for, and the resulting code is harder to diagnose than the original absence.
Nothing to Reset
No idle setting, no throttle balance and no fuelling change. The engine runs exactly as it did, because the valve was never doing anything while it was working.
A Test Ride Afterwards
Ten minutes with several closed-throttle sections confirms the noise has gone and nothing has been trapped under the bodywork.
The Airbox Tells You the Truth
While the airbox is open for access, the element is worth a proper look. A clean filter means the reeds are still sealing and the electrical half is genuinely all that is needed. Discolouration or soot means exhaust gas has been travelling the wrong way, and in that case the housing on the cylinder head is a repair rather than an optional extra.
Alongside an Aftermarket Exhaust
A different silencer changes what the exhaust gas is doing but not what the secondary air system injects into it, so the two are entirely separate decisions. Owners often make them in the same week, which is fine, but the mapping should follow both rather than sitting between them and being redone twice.
