The JP MJ 007 takes the 1290 Super Adventure's factory mixture and adds the correction the engine actually wants, without any of the original electronics being reprogrammed.

The Big Twin, Detuned
KTM softened the LC8 for the adventure chassis, trading peak output for a torque curve that works on a loose surface with luggage aboard.
Where It Lives
Under the seat or beneath the tank on most machines, cable-tied where it cannot chafe and where water does not collect. Two hundred grams in that position affects nothing about how the motorcycle handles.
Vibration and Water
The module lives on a motorcycle and is built accordingly, sealed as a unit and secured rather than left hanging. Neither is remarkable; both are necessary.
Cold Mornings
Starting and warm-up enrichment belong to the standard controller. A module changes nothing there, and an owner hoping to cure a cold-start problem is looking at the wrong part.
The Homologation Compromise
Every production motorcycle is mapped to pass a test in a laboratory, using a reference fuel, at a reference temperature, with a reference exhaust. A rider meets none of those conditions on an ordinary morning.
When Not to Bother
A current machine with the standard exhaust that the owner has no complaint about. Fitting a correction to a mixture that is already right achieves nothing worth the money.
Buying Second Hand
A motorcycle offered with one fitted should come with the original connectors intact underneath. Checking that takes a minute with the seat off and settles whether anything was cut.
Second Hand Modules
They transfer between identical motorcycles because there is nothing stored in them that belongs to one machine. The harness is the part that has to match, not the module.
