The JP MJ 001 smooths out the Multistrada V2S's throttle response at small openings, which is where a map written to pass an emissions test is at its most cautious.

Electronic Suspension
The S adds semi-active damping and a colour panel. It is the specification bought by owners who actually tour rather than commute.
And With an Open Filter
More air on the intake side has the same effect from the other direction. The standard closed-loop correction handles part of it and runs out of authority for the rest, particularly at larger throttle openings.
The Original Controller Stays in Charge
Ignition timing, the rev limiter, traction control, the riding modes and every safety strategy remain exactly where they were. The module has no access to any of it and no interest in it.
What Comes in the Box
The module and the model-specific harness. Cable ties, a place to put it and twenty minutes are the owner's contribution, and nothing else is needed.
Who Should Not Buy One
An owner with a standard exhaust, a recent motorcycle and no complaint about how it runs. There is no reason to fit a correction to something that is already correct.
The Legal Note
Fuelling is part of the emissions approval in most of Europe. A modified mixture puts the machine outside its approved condition, and that is a local question with a local answer.
Winter Storage
Nothing about the module objects to a cold garage and there is no battery in it. It draws no current when the ignition is off and needs no attention over a layup.

This one arrives finished. The programmable unit arrives empty and expects an owner with software, a laptop and preferably a dyno. Neither is better; they answer different questions.
