The JP KS YA067 is fitted to the R7 when the machine stops being ridden on roads and the key stops being something worth carrying.

The Later Machines
Yamaha revised the R7 and the ignition arrangement changed with it, which is why the newer bikes take their own part number.
IP69K
The rating covers high-pressure, high-temperature washing. A switch sitting in the open above the front wheel needs it and most switches do not have it.
Model Specific
The mounting, the connector and the plate shape all follow the motorcycle. There is no universal version and fitting the wrong one is not a shortcut.

The unit sits in the open above the front wheel, taking everything the tyre throws up and everything a pressure washer delivers afterwards.

No Software
Nothing is flashed and no controller is told anything. The part is a switch and it behaves like one from the first ride.
Weight on the Steering Head
Every gram above the fork crown resists the rider's input twice: once turning in and once picking the bike up. It is the most expensive mass on a motorcycle.
Fitted Cold or Warm
It makes no difference here. Nothing threads into a hot casting and nothing needs to cool before it can be touched.
Between Sessions
The bike sits armed or dead depending on one press. There is nothing hanging out of the yoke to catch a glove or a knee.
Storing What Comes Off
Barrel, key, bracket and connector in one bag, kept with the motorcycle rather than in a drawer somewhere else. A reversible change is only reversible if somebody can find the parts, which is a lower bar than it sounds.
