Wide Bars, Short Throttle
On a naked bike with a one-piece handlebar the wrist has more room than it does on clip-ons, which makes a quick-action kit a preference rather than a necessity. Plenty of Tuono owners fit one anyway.
Restoring What the Kit Displaced
The conversion generally removes the original right-hand block. This unit mounts alongside the new throttle assembly and gives the controls somewhere to live, wired to the motorcycle's own connector.
A Hundred and Seventy-Five Horsepower
The 1077 cc V4 makes its case on torque rather than peak figures. Shortening the throttle action on an engine with this much midrange changes the character of every corner exit.
Not a Replacement Block
It is an additional component. That is the single most misunderstood thing about the part number and worth confirming before ordering rather than after the parcel arrives.
One Anodised Finish
Titanium, converted into the surface. It matches the quick-action assemblies it accompanies and it does not mark the way a painted component would.
Sealed Inside
Military-specification elements enclosed within the machined body. A Tuono has no fairing, so the block is exposed to whatever the road produces from the moment it leaves the garage.
Cut From a Billet
Ergal 7075 machined rather than moulded, which gives the mounting the stiffness a gloved hand needs at speed. Nothing flexes when a control is pressed against wind pressure.
Pre-Wired
The loom terminates in Aprilia's plug, so no splicing is needed and the installation stays reversible if the bike is sold on.
Where the Tuono Actually Goes
This is the V4 people ride to places rather than around them, which means junctions, weather and long days rather than sessions. A quick-action throttle on a bike used that way is a deliberate choice, and the owner who makes it usually cares what the rest of the cockpit is built from.
