What a Quick Throttle Costs You
A quick-action kit shortens the travel from closed to fully open, and in doing so it usually displaces the original right-hand switch block. The functions that lived there have to go somewhere, and this is where.
Not a Replacement
This is an additional unit rather than a substitute. It mounts alongside whatever the throttle kit left in place and restores the controls the conversion pushed off the bar.
Why Riders Fit Quick Throttles
On a circuit the wrist runs out of travel before the throttle does, particularly on a bike with clip-ons and a full lean. Shortening the rotation removes a hand movement from every corner exit.
A V4 That Rewards It
The 999.6 cc engine responds immediately once the throttle bodies open, which is precisely why the shorter action is worth having. It is also why the fuelling in the first fifteen degrees was calibrated so carefully.
Titanium Only
This part comes in one finish, anodised into the aluminium. It is a functional component rather than a styling one, and the colour matches the quick-action kits it is normally fitted beside.
Military-Specification Elements
The switches inside are sealed to a standard well beyond what a road motorcycle needs. On a bike that gets washed hot and stood in a paddock overnight, that margin is the reason it keeps working.
Cut From Solid
Machined from a block of Ergal 7075 rather than moulded. The mounting is rigid enough that the block does not move when a control is pressed hard through a glove.
The Original Plug
Pre-wired to Aprilia's connector so the added functions work without any splicing. The conversion stays reversible, which matters when the bike eventually goes back to standard.
